Lost and Found

By Mark Lintern Assistant to the Secretary of Information Technologies

A fun time was experience as the company meeting hosted at Alcatraz.  The mingling of all departments always has a positive affect of the mood of the group.   It was a short time of sharing food and drink leading up to the climax of the viewing of “Social Network.”  As the show time was getting near a whirlwind of movement emptied the social balcony we were occupying.  This I must assume is cause of the following situation.

Being one of the last three people to leave Alcatraz after the company celebration I notice a couple items left, which were pointed out to us by the wonderful waitstaff. Trying to be careful not to mention Lee and Ryan, A pair of glasses, in it's case and a brown leather bag were left.  To their defense the items were not highly visible and it wasn't until clean up started that they were discovered.  Max, Chris and I retrieved the items form the staff and decided to, with a little luck, drop them off back at the office, as, for one reason or another, all three of us were without our key.  Luckily Kate was back at the office working hard and we were able to securely drop off the items.

Now, the moral of this story is not pay attention so that you don't leave your belongings behind.  The message that I want leave you with is that Compendium is an environment filled with trusting people. We have a tendency to be so relaxed around the wonderful people here, that items could possibly left behind and subconsciously we know that there is always someone who has our back looks after us and our stuff. Kind of like the way a bag could be left at a restaurant and end up on the owners desk chair in the morning.
