Blogging As A Marketing Acquisition Tool

By: Friday, August 24, 2007

Let me get back to one of my favorite topics with regard to Blogging Best Practices.....Blogging as an Acquisition tool.

The key to acquisition in 2007 and beyond is search,  I might call this post Blogging for Search...anyway, the one of the many things you can't control in marketing is HOW people describe their problem when conducting a search.

Some people might type in Blogging Best Practices, another might say "Best Practices in Blogging" or "Blog Best Practices".   The fact is that the average keyword search is > 4 words.   That adds a lot of variability in how someone is describing a search you would like to be found on.

The reality is that I as a business want to win all of these blog searches.  But the odds are that with traditional Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies I probably have to pick one of those to hit.

The advantage of Corporate Blogging is that I've got a big canvas.   There is a lot of room to write content over time.   In that time I can describe the problem lots of different ways...all of which get indexed by the search engines.

The hope is that no matter how you describe your desire to learn more about best practices in blogging this is the blog you will find.

Try it yourself.   Blogging Tools for Organizations are easy to use and inexpensive.   The risk is low, and the reward can be great!
